As Connections Pastor, it’s Tim’s privilege to play a part in the movement of God in the lives of the families of this community. Connecting is all about building relationships. Tim feels it is an honor to help people of all ages and backgrounds find connections between each other, the church and ultimately with Jesus. He serves with an awesome and talented staff that makes coming to “work” something to look forward to everyday! The truth is he would do it for free, (but let’s keep that between just you and him).

They say we’re like “two peas in a pod”, but Tim prefers “two Reese Cups in a pack”, because his wife Billi Jo is the perfect complement to who he is. He is the smooth, thick, bold peanut butter inside- but she’s the sweet, everybody loves, chocolaty outside that makes the Reese Cup complete. Tim and Billi Jo were married in 1991. She’s blessed him with two beautiful daughters, Tabitha (born 1992) and Samantha (born 1999). They each bring him more joy than any one guy should be allowed. Saying “I love you” never seems to be enough, unless it comes from one of the three ladies in his life.

Tim was born in the 70’s, grew up in the 80’s, and has DDA, because he has ADD and Dyslexia both. Still he sat still long enough to accept Christ as his personal Lord and Savior when he was 12 years old. Tim has been serving God in the ministry for more than 20 years. He also traveled full time with a band as their road manager/pastor for 6 years, which took him to some really awesome places around the country. He met a lot of great people and saw first-hand the mighty power of God’s redeeming love impact the lives of literally thousands of people, including his own. He’s been through so much during the last several years that it’s just too much to go into here. If you really want know how Jesus radically transformed Tim’s life for the better, then drop him an email and He will give you the full story.

Three Questions answered by Tim:

“If Tim weren’t here, what would he rather be doing…”

  • Watching the movie Tommy Boy or the TV show American Pickers (Of course anytime there’s a Clint Eastwood western on, I’ve gotta watch it.) I love to laugh and hang with people who have a great sense of humor and understand the gift of sarcasm. I love to read, listen to music, preach and work out. (Ok, so maybe I don’t love working out, but I do kinda like it.) I also use to enjoy riding my Harley Davidson, but one day I lost my mind and sold it to buy my daughter a car…

“What’s one thing He will never forget …”

  • When my daughter Sammy, who was four at the time, told me she had sniffed a small metal screw up her nose! I rushed her to the emergency room to have it removed. After 2 hours of waiting and as the doctor began to remove it, she smiled and said, “Just kidding Daddy…April Fool’s!” To make matters worse, it was only March.

“Besides being a Husband & Father what’s closest to his heart…”

  • The friendship of my closest buddies. God has truly blessed me with their companionship. Their brotherhood has enriched my life, made me a better husband, father and pastor, by providing me with laughter and at times discipline. Whether it’s a smile and an encouraging word or a kick in the pants with a challenge to do better, I’ll always love em’. Thanks for always being there for me guys, you know who you are.

"Keep moving forward" -Walt Disney

“I never could have seen myself calling myself a Christian, let alone working at a church as a youth director.”  These are the thoughts coming to mind as Zach starts this new chapter in his life.  Zach was born September 3, 1994 and he grew up having divorced parents who had both been remarried while he was a very young age.  Neither side ever went to church and he didn’t know much about the Bible.  Zach had always just thought that after a person dies they go to Heaven.  He wasn’t the most popular kid on the playground, in fact, he  was bullied a lot.  He had a close relationship with his  grandmother who was diagnosed with cancer when he was in elementary school.  A few years later, she had passed away and he had decided he did not believe in a God and even if he did, he wanted nothing to do with Him.  This started a season of deep depression in Zach’s life as he sought many different things to try and fill this void that he felt in his heart.  Everything he tried to fill this void with only seemed to make the depression take root into the deepest parts of his heart.  Eventually he sought things like alcohol to try and get rid of the pain but it only left a temporary numbness followed by feelings of worthlessness.  However, all of this changed when he ended up at a Teens for Christ meeting as a junior in high school in November of 2011.

“One thing I love is the vision that our youth program Chosen Student Impact conveys to all students who come.  We are all chosen by God on purpose for a purpose.  This is what I was shown on that night in November, that God had a purpose for my life and He desires for me to come and be in relationship with Him.”   This started a rapid growth in his spiritual life that led to God calling him into full time youth ministry.  “If I can help a single student understand that God did not make a mistake when He made them despite what everyone else might say to them, that would be worth more than anything anyone could ever give me.”  One thing that Zach is passionate about is helping  people understand who they are in Christ and the forgiveness that He has given them.  One of his favorite quotes listed above is by Walt Disney, “Keep moving forward.”  Our past does not define us, we learn from it and then we keep moving forward.

Zach loves to be around people and, to no surprise, he is a lover of movies and music especially those that are Disney related.  He also enjoys to play video games and also loves design videos for all different types of events or even just for fun.  His friends are held very close to his heart.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

The presence of the Lord in Sherri’s life came at the young age of 6, when she accepted Christ into her life after her mother practiced a Sunday school lesson on her at home. She can’t remember a time when she didn’t attend church, and recalls that family was always very important in their lives. This foundation of love and community has shaped Sherri into the tender hearted, people-loving person that she is today. Although, she often works behind the scenes, she loves to serve people and love people to extent of her abilities as reflected in what Jesus says in Matthew 22:37-39, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' ” Sherri works part time at Cable Road alliance Church as the office administrator, but her ministry doesn’t end there. She serves on the benevolent committee, on the board of Deaconesses, and delights in reaching out to the people of the church to simply ask them, “How can I help?” Sherri is married to Rob Jordan and together they have 3 children, Jesse, Bryon, and Shawn.

Worship Director

Where words fail, music speaks.

Before Sheena was born, a music minister took a chance on a non-believer and asked her dad to play in a church band. Through that church in Euless, TX, her parents accepted Christ and Sheena was the first baby born in that recently-established church. When Sheena was 4, she accepted Christ at home with her mom, even though Mom wanted her to wait until Dad got home to share in the moment. Sheena always though she had "no testimony" but her youth pastor shared with her once that growing up in a Godly home, always knowing and accepting His love is an amazing testimony. In junior high, Sheena became a pastor's kid when her dad become a full-time music pastor. After moving from Texas to Oregon to Washington, back to Texas, then finally to Ohio, Sheena met her husband Dan here where they've been married since 2006 and the parents of Austin since 2008. Music and ministry have always been part of Sheena's life, but God's call to become the Director of Worship Ministries at Cable Road was a huge shock. She says "God keeps calling me into positions I'm totally unequipped for. Luckily, my job is just to follow. He takes care of the rest." In addition to leading and coordinating worship, Sheena loves to sing professionally with local bands, listen to all kinds of music, read, knit, and watch movies.

 Ferne Leamon
Children's Ministry Director

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14 [NIV]

Ferne’s life started in Grand Rapids, MI, born the eldest of five. She thanks the Lord she was BORN AGAIN at the age of 10 at a church youth camp and often hums “He’s Still Working on Me”.

While attending college, she met the man of her dreams. After marriage and college they started the pastoral ministry which led them to three different states. God blessed them with 5 children who in turn have blessed them with 18 grandchildren.

Ferne’s degree in Elementary Education has been most helpful working in various children’s ministries in the churches her husband, David, pastored for 35 years. She has also directed several Child Care Centers.

Ferne realizes that from birth, and even before, children are learning from our examples first, and then what we attempt to teach them.  She has learned too, that children can learn early on so much more than we give them credit for. Thus it challenges us to teach according to Deuteronomy 11:19—“Teach them (God’s Word) to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Teaching God’s Word MUST start in the home! “Along the road” in the church, we can continue to reinforce the Word in young hearts.
