Opportunities: In Colossians 1:15 we know that Jesus is the visible expression of the invisible God. In verse 27 we learn that it is Jesus Christ who is the hope of glory in our lives. In other words as Christians we are Jesus with skin on. We are to make God known to each other and to a hurting world that does not know him. Our desire at Cable Road Alliance is make disciples of Jesus, to know and make known this Jesus we call Savior. We have identified a profile of a disciple that is on the back of the bulletin each week. A disciple is:
The adult ministries of CRA are meant to help adults in their walk with God by helping them develop the profile of a disciple. A disciple is what we are called to be in the great commission. So, what do we have to offer at CRA? Adult Ministries Adult ministries at CRA consist of Adult Bible Communities that meet on Sunday morning and small groups or triads that meet various times throughout the week. If you are new to CRA, a good first step is to either come to our Discovery 101 class offered quarterly or to an Adult Bible Community that meets on Sunday mornings. Discovery 101 This class is designed to help
get you inside Cable Road Alliance Church. Quite often people who
visit CRA enjoy its services - the worship, music, preaching, etc. and
feel comfortable attending. In time they build friendships and are
glad to be a part of the church. There often develops a desire to
align themselves more closely to CRA formally through membership.
This class has been designed to answer the questions about getting more
involved - being a part of the ministry here as a member of our church.
We feel it is helpful to know what Cable Road Alliance believes about the
Bible and the Christian walk. This class lasts four weeks. Adult Bible Communities (ABC's) ABC's are a group or community of people committed to know and apply God's word together in a caring fellowship, with organization to bring about pastoral care, discipleship and outreach - usually divided by age groupings so there is a natural affinity and strong bonding. ABC's are the middle sized group in the church infrastructure. They are a group of 15 - 90 people with a relational focus on fellowship. They are deeper than the worship service but less intimate than a small group. Fellowship involves getting to know others well enough to "co-participate" with them in activities. The scriptural basis rests in the "one another's" of scripture. These are open groups that incorporate Christian education, pro-active outreach, assimilation and fellowship. An ABC is and "open" group functioning as adult "adoption units" for the church. Small Groups Small groups are 4 -17 people that seek to establish intimacy and focus on the spiritual growth of the participants. People get to know one another on a deeper level and have more accountability. A small group may be open or closed.
